KATE VOEGELE TALKS NEW MUSIC AND THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY DURING HER VISIT TO SUPAJAM'S MUSIC COLLEGE IN THE U.K.
October 2018 - Written by Katie Titus
Last week students were pleasantly surprised to have Kate Voegele come and visit SupaJam and talk new music and the industry.
The 'Shoot This Arrow' singer-songwriter enlightened students that she had currently been writing new music in France which is set to be out early next year. She also spoke about her latest single 'Shoot This Arrow' and explained how she was heavily inspired by the ‘#Metoo' movement, wanting to express how you can ''take the power back.'' Kate expressed how important it is to ''find people to talk to'' which for some students was extremely helpful to know that it is ok to ''speak out'' and realising that like Kate said ''taking care of yourself is so important''...
BLACK DEER ROUND UP FESTIVAL
29 June 2018 - Written by Katie Titus
Last weekend, Black Deer freed Country and America at their first ever festival. Sarah Darling, Jess, and the Bandits, as well as other artists, explained how Country music in America is defined whereas in the UK it is ''limitless'' and allows freedom within the genre.
According to the Radio legend Bob Harris the festival was ''ground-breaking'' and had ''such a lovely environment''. The three-day event that was filled with authentic activities, delicious delicacies and eight stages packed with talent showed just how much love, passion, and thought went into the event.
Black Deer's authentic activities showed festival goers the country life and allowed kids to be kids again with The Woodland Tribe that meant young folk could Play, Build and Dream. The combination of joy and adventure mesmerised their young minds while they were shown advice on how to climb trees and build a wooden structure ready for next year...
BLACK DEER SERIES
From May to June 2018 - Written by Katie Titus
This is a four-part series that was created so that Black Deer festival goers could be aware and have behind the scenes information regarding the Black Deer festival and the relationship and work that went on with SupaJam (a music college.)
Part 1: If you’re like me, you like to be aware of what’s going on – so things like surprises are a bit of a no go. That being taken into consideration, you can imagine my frustration when college told us ‘’we have big news coming soon!’’
What does that even mean? Are we getting a longer break? That would be nice. What about free concert tickets? We’re a music college after all so it would be educational and possible, I guess?
No, I was wrong. ‘We’re going to be doing a festival’...

A BLACK DEER INTERVIEW WITH RISING COUNTRY STAR SARAH DARLING
28 June 2018 - Written by Katie Titus
Last weekend, I was honored to interview Country Star Sarah Darling and get all the deets on new music and her UK and Black Deer experience as well as her dedicating a track to SupaJam Students.
Whilst, speaking to her she exclusively gave us the gossip on her upcoming releases, with her debut single 'Diamonds,' released less than a week ago. It seems that it's only the start for her fans as she enlightened us that she might be realising a collab at the end of the year and will be releasing a new album sometime next year.
The Country music sweetheart seems to be on a mission that I for one cannot wait to see and listen to.
With the help of Celine (a fellow SupaJam student), we were able to find out that 'Diamonds' was written about how you can have the ''highest highs and lowest lows'' within the music industry, but, that there's always a silver lining.
Darling also spoke to us about how she thought that the Black Deer arena was ''absolutely gorgeous'' and how she was really excited to perform with a full band in the circus-like tent as many people haven't heard her music with a full band before.
She also enlightened us that she likes to perform in the UK because, as she says, “country music is limitless'' and it means she can do her kind of genre, '' dream country.'' Whereas, in America country music is more defined...

3:00pm the five-piece band, Nobel Jacks filled the stage and then so did the festival goers around it. The forty-five-minute slot captivated the audience with their brotherhood dynamic and multitalented musicianship. The passion was ignited within the stage with Nobel Jacks music wizardry, playing songs new and old...
A REAL SHOWCASE OF AMERICANA BRITISH TALENT!
June Article Collaboration with Black Deer 2018 - Written by Katie Titus & Black Deer
The dream became a reality when we got an exclusive look at what’s to come from the festival this summer.
Speaking to The Lew Thomas Band and Kate Ellis was very enlightening and influential and opened my eyes a lot as to how Americana and Country isn’t just music, it’s a lifestyle too!
Personally, I was truly captivated by what Black Deer had put together for the launch, without the plans they have for the festival itself. It’s certainly going to be a game changer for the Country Americana music scene...
